

The National Network of AIDS Service Organizations of South Sudan (NASOSS) has officially concluded its three-day 7th Annual General Meeting (AGM), under the theme: “Strengthening Community Systems for a Sustainable HIV, TB, Viral Hepatitis, and Malaria Response: Uniting Voices, Driving Impact.” held from 25th–27th November 2025 at the Imperial Plaza Hotel in Juba.
The AGM brought together over 50 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), including state and administrative focal persons, alongside strategic partners such as UNDP, AMREF Health Africa, UNAIDS, the South Sudan AIDS Commission (SSAC), the Ministry of Health (MoH), and the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM). Their presence enriched the deliberations and strengthened collaboration toward a more coordinated national health response.
Guest of Honour
The event was graced by the Guest of Honour, Hon. Dr. Justin Kawac Kawac, the chairperson of South Sudan Aids Commission(SSAC), whose remarks emphasized the importance of sustaining community-led initiatives and reinforcing accountability in the national HIV, TB, viral hepatitis, and malaria response. His participation demonstrated a strong government commitment to civil society engagement.
Key Highlights
- Validation of the NASOSS Strategic Framework (2026–2030): Members endorsed the updated strategic plan as a dynamic roadmap to guide the network’s work for the next five years.
- Sustainability Discussions: Participants explored practical pathways for strengthening domestic health financing, especially in light of declining external support and recent programmatic disruptions.
- Experience Sharing: CSOs presented state-level progress, identified emerging gaps, and proposed strategies for improved coordination and accountability.
Collaboration and Appreciation
NASOSS extends appreciation to AMREF Health Africa for its continued partnership and support, as well as to all CSOs and stakeholders who contributed to the success of the AGM. The meeting reaffirmed the sector’s collective commitment to a resilient, community-centered, and sustainable health response in South Sudan.
